Tummy Tamers Program Hunger impacts children and families of all ages, ethnicity and geographical region in Calgary. According to the Calgary health Region, 19% of Calgary parents with children age 2 through 9 do not have enought money to buy food for their family all the time. Since 1993, Community Kitchen Program of Calgary has worked to address hunger and provide families affordable meals. Precenting malnutrition in childre and reducing hunger, Tummy Tamers works to provide children in Calgary with a nutritious lunch in the summer months - when children often need it most. The two stories on the sire, Dinner for Two and The Curious Kid, demonstrate the impact and reach Tummy Tamers is having on Calgary children. As a founding agency of Storehouse 39-3-10, Community Kitchen Program is working to provide low income Calgarians with the knowledge and resources needed to acquire affordable and healthy meals. Community Kitchen Program works collaboratively with other Storehouse agencies and individuals throughout Calgary to develop initiatives that work to reduce hunder and combat poverty. |
